Professor Jessy Escobar | UNITEC and UVM

At UNITEC and UVM, the integration of Body Interact’s Virtual Patient Simulator has been a game-changer for clinical education. Faced with the challenges of remote learning during the pandemic, both institutions turned to this innovative tool to provide students with a high-quality, interactive learning experience when in-person training was not feasible.

Professors and students reflect on how Body Interact has transformed their approach to teaching and assessment across various programs, including nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, and dentistry. The simulator’s diverse scenarios have not only aligned seamlessly with curriculum goals but also enhanced clinical competencies by simulating real-life patient conditions. Its use in OSCEs has proven especially valuable, offering an engaging way to assess and build students’ decision-making skills.
