Shaping the Future of Nurse Practitioner Education
Body Interact at NONPF Annual Conference 2025
From April 9–13, Body Interact proudly joined the 2025 Annual Conference of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) — the leading event shaping Nurse Practitioner (NP) education across the United States. This year, our presence highlighted the power of virtual patients to transform clinical reasoning training across eight NP specialties, with immersive, realistic simulations that reflect the diverse and dynamic roles of today’s Nurse Practitioners.
Below, we’re excited to share some of the great feedback we’ve received across each of our focus areas.
Where does Body Interact fit in Nurse Practitioner training?
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Caring across the lifespan in outpatient primary care
Body Interact empowers Family Nurse Practitioner students to manage outpatient primary clinic center cases from initial assessment to diagnosis and treatment.
In a realistic clinical setting, learners practice history-taking, conducting head-to-toe exams, and providing patient education, which builds confidence in managing chronic conditions and promoting preventive care.
Educators highlighted how the immersive experience effectively mirrors the realities of primary care practice.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
Critical thinking for acute and complex conditions
ACNPs need advanced skills to manage patients in high-acuity hospital settings. At the NONPF Annual Conference, educators were particularly drawn to our Virtual Patient scenarios, which include ventilator management — a standout example of how Body Interact supports intensive care and hospital medicine training.
Body Interact acute care scenarios build confidence in rapid assessment, differential diagnosis, and timely interventions.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Mental health interventions across the lifespan
Mental health is a critical component of NP practice. Body Interact offers interactive psychiatric scenarios covering anxiety, depression, psychosis, and more, integrating psychotherapeutic dialogue and pharmacological strategies.
PMHNP educators highlighted how our simulations foster therapeutic communication skills and decision-making in complex behavioral health scenarios.
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
Focused care through all stages of womanhood
WHNPs specialize in reproductive and gynecological health. Body Interact is currently developing new scenarios that address family planning, pregnancy management, menopause, and preventive screening.
Our ongoing scenario expansion reflects our commitment to supporting Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner education with evidence-based, patient-centered content.
Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC)
Safe and rapid response to pediatric emergencies
PNP-ACs require fast, accurate judgment in complex pediatric situations. Body Interact provides hospital-based pediatric simulations that support early recognition, stabilization, and multidisciplinary coordination. These simulations allow learners to practice in safe, high-risk environments, preparing them for real-world pediatric care.
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
Acute and chronic care for aging adults
AGACNPs play a vital role in hospital care for older adults. Body Interact addresses this need with geriatric-focused acute care scenarios, covering issues like delirium and heart failure exacerbations. These scenarios help learners practice clinical reasoning, decision-making, and transitions of care for complex older patients.
Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)
Frontline decision-making in urgent care settings
For ENPs, time is critical. Body Interact includes a growing selection of emergency department simulations — from trauma to medical emergencies. These immersive scenarios simulate the high-stakes, high-pressure environment ENPs face every day.
At the NONPF Annual Conference, we were thrilled to witness educators’ enthusiasm for simulation-based learning. Body Interact remains committed to supporting the academic and clinical excellence of Nurse Practitioner programs with tailored content, real-time feedback, and evolving scenario libraries for every NP specialty.
